Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Scheme

What does CPD mean?

Continuing - ongoing, long-lasting, lifelong
Professional - expert, skilled, trained
Development - growth, progress, advancement

So pretty positive stuff! Research indicates that people who actively pursue CPD feel much more confident and competent; they are also more successful and happy in their professional and private lives.

Part of the IQPS mission is to raise professional standards through continuing personal and professional development. To support the maintenance of excellence, members are recommended to take part in our CPD Scheme.

CPD points are awarded across various categories:

A - IQPS-related - conference and event attendance, committee work or professional development speaking
B - Development through recognised awarding bodies for course work
C - Professional and job-related committee or group work and private study
D - A new category - personal development recognised by your manager

"I've taken part in the IQPS CPD Scheme since its launch and have been fortunate enough to be successful each year. I'd urge all members to record their CPD. There are lots of things many of us do that could be written up and used as evidence to claim CPD points." Jayne W MIQPS
